Update on Course Reserves for Summer 2021

The Washington University Libraries are preparing for summer 2021 course reserves support. Here are some key details.

  • Electronic reserves will be supported. Physical reserves will be unavailable for summer courses as the University Libraries transition operations for the 2021/2022 academic year.
  • We will link to eResources within the University Libraries’ digital collections and purchase eBooks (when feasible); both will be linked to the Ares course.
  • Reserves staff will scan print materials to the extent that we remain within fair use and within the university’s copyright guidelines. We will not scan large portions or entire books that are within copyright.

PLEASE NOTE: Requests submitted by Friday, April 30, will be given first priority. Requests submitted after this date will be processed in the order they are received. Due to the transition to MyDay, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to purchase new materials requested for reserves after this date.

Submitting details via Ares and providing a need-by date will help us to expedite your request.

Olin Library’s reserves staff can be reached directly via email (reserve@wumail.wustl.edu) or phone at (314) 935-5451 for assistance. Please note that the reserves services at other campus libraries may vary, please contact those locations directly for details.
