[Updated] Temporary Disruption to MOBIUS Service

There will be a temporary suspension of services on the MOBIUS online library catalog, which allows users to request items from Missouri libraries outside Washington University. This is due to an upcoming migration of MOBIUS to a new operating and software system. MOBIUS borrowing and lending services on campus will halt on April 18, 2024, and the service is slated to be restored in midsummer.

important dates

  • April 17 – last day to request items in the MOBIUS catalog
  • April 18 — MOBIUS catalog becomes search-only; requesting will not be available until the migration is complete
  • April 18 – borrowed MOBIUS items will be due on May 17 and renewals will not be allowed
  • May 17 — replacement fees may be assessed if borrowed MOBIUS items are not returned by this date
  • Late May – tentative date for MOBIUS to be restored.

Please note that MOBIUS items returned during the migration may take longer to be cleared from your library account. Patrons will not be able to check out items on-site from MOBIUS libraries such as SLU or UMSL.

WashU faculty, students, and staff are encouraged to utilize the InterLibrary Loan service during this period. If you are affiliated with the law school, please reach out to the Law Library staff for interlibrary loan assistance. This system migration does not impact the medical school or the Becker Medical Library.
