The Libraries Launch a New Data Repository
To meet the research data needs of faculty and researchers at Washington University as well as federal funder requirements, the Washington University Libraries will soon launch the new WashU Research Data repository.
As the Libraries transition from the current technology to the new technology, please be aware that all dataset submissions will be paused for a brief period as we launch our new platform.
We will no longer ingest datasets into WashU’s Open Scholarship Digital Research Materials Repository as of April 21.
On May 5, we will launch WashU Research Data (WURD) and again accept datasets into our new platform. Among the essential features the WURD repository service will provide are:
- DataCite metadata
- Digital Object Identifiers (DOI)
- Curatorial review for data quality
- Github integration
- Long-term preservation
Read more about the new data repository for researchers here.
If you’ve previously submitted datasets to our repository, your DOIs will be automatically redirected to the appropriate URL in the new WashU Research Data portal. Remember to always refer to the DOI, not the URL, when sharing your record. If you need to meet a data sharing deadline between those dates and are not able to submit in advance, we will work to accommodate you with interim solutions. Please reach out to me, Jennifer Moore (j.moore@wustl.edu), head of Data Services, with such requests.
We look forward to demonstrating the capabilities of the state-of-the-art WashU Research Data repository soon, as our community strives to meet the call of research data sharing.
