Washington University Libraries’ Phase 1 Response

During this time of many challenges for faculty, students, and staff, we want to let you know that the Washington University Libraries remain committed to providing the services and resources you need for research and instruction.

During Phase 1 (spanning June 1 to July 31) of Washington University’s COVID-19 Response, the University Libraries’ physical spaces will remain closed. However, we will begin retrieving physical collection materials on a limited basis for users to pick up, in addition to the broad range of remote resources that will continue to be available.

Our target date to begin offering a “curbside pickup”-style service is June 15. Our goal is to be able to provide materials from all 10 Danforth Campus locations plus West Campus at one pickup area in John M. Olin Library. More information about how that service will work and can be utilized will be released as those details are confirmed.

We will have a very small, essential crew on-site during this time. They will be adhering to all recommended safety guidelines and focus on preparing our spaces and materials so that staff can begin to respond to requests for items in our physical collection.

Please visit our Updates and Resources page for the latest information. We also encourage members of the campus community to reach out to the subject librarian assigned to your department with any immediate questions or concerns.
