Yadier Molina and Albert Pujols: Selections from the Collection of Tim Huskey

Tim Huskey has collected Cardinals baseball memorabilia since he was five when he stood in line to get an autograph from his favorite player, Lou Brock. Since then, Huskey has amassed thousands of baseball-related items, from baseball cards and bobbleheads to game-used bats and hundreds of autographs. Although his collection once focused almost exclusively on Brock, Huskey now collects all things Cardinals and, in recent years, has concentrated on game-worn jerseys from his favorite players.

Cardinals memorabilia featuring Yadier Molina and Albert Pujols on display in the Collect-o-Rama case in Olin Library.

The 2022 baseball season is the last year for Cardinals legends Yadier Molina and Albert Pujols. In honor of their historic careers, Tim has shared some of his favorite items from these players for this exhibition.

The jerseys on display are game-worn and autographed, including the jersey Pujols wore in a 2003 game against the Kansas City Royals when the team wore uniforms in tribute to the St. Louis Stars Negro League team (gray), as well as a jersey that Molina wore during batting practice in 2008 (red). Note the initials in the black circle on the sleeves of two jerseys that honor Darryl Kile and Oscar Taveras – two players that passed away tragically while they were on the team. The JFB patch honors the legendary broadcaster Jack Buck, who passed in 2002 just before Kile.

Signed game-worn Albert Pujols number 5 jersey with dirt stains on the bottom left hem. The jersey has a DK 57 circle emblem on one sleeve and JFB on the other. The jersey is in white.

Also included are items from the Cardinals’ last two World Series Championships in 2006 and 2011 and the All-Star Game held in St. Louis at Busch Stadium in 2009.

The exhibition tracks Molina and Pujols’ career progress through the many player cards that track their stats. St. Louis will miss these two Cardinals legends, but the memories live on thanks to collectors like Tim.
