STEM Libraries Closing

The Washington University Libraries are closing three Danforth Campus locations – the Chemistry Library, Gustavus A. Pfeiffer Physics Library, and Ronald Rettner Earth & Planetary Science Library.

The Libraries are committed to maintaining the same high level of service and support to those disciplines moving forward. Most of the physical collections for these three spaces have been moved to John M. Olin Library. The future use of these spaces will be determined by the Arts & Sciences administration in partnership with the Office of the Provost.

According to Leland Deeds, Interim Vice Provost and University Librarian, “This decision was based on a number of factors. Though the location of services is in transition, we will continue to provide high-level, personalized research and instruction support, collection development, and more to all of the faculty, staff, and students impacted by this change.”
