11 Wood+ Chairs Designed by Architects+ 1807-1996

The 11 Wood+ Chairs Designed by Architects+ 1807-1996 exhibition from the 2021 Design Culture course features 11 wood chair designs dating from 1807-1996, designed by architects, designers, and artists including, among others: Franco Albini, Riccardo Blumer, Giuseppe Gaetano Descalzi, Charles and Ray Eames, Donald Judd, Angelo Mangiarotti, Gio Ponti, and Gerrit Rietveld.

The exhibition is organized by professor Stephen Leet in conjunction with the fall 2021 course Design Culture, with support from teaching assistant Qingshan Hu. Lenders include Centro Modern Furnishings St. Louis; Emiliano Lopez (senior lecturer) and Mónica Rivera (professor of practice and chair of graduate architecture); and a private collection.
