Turn Right at Machu Picchu

Join us to discuss our June virtual book club selection, Turn Right at Machu Picchu by Mark Adams.

“Explorer” Mark Adams retraces the steps of the 1911 trip by Hiram Bingham III deep into the Andes Mountains of Peru. Bingham “discovered” Machu Picchu, and is historically known as someone that stole priceless artifacts and gained a type of credit for locating the site. Adams sought the truth of the journey of Bingham, and found himself deeper in exploration and adventure than he had ever planned.

Book Club will begin with a short presentation from the Newman Exploration Center, followed by a discussion of the book.

Free and open to all, pre-registration is required.
