The Maid of McMillan
Visit the Libraries’ booth at the ThurtenE Carnival to learn more about The Maid of McMillan, a film that was written and produced by Washington University in St. Louis students in the Thyrsus Dramatic Club in 1916. Attendees will also have the opportunity to view the silent fifteen-minute film.
The Julian Edison Department of Special Collections received a National Film Preservation Foundation (NFPF) Basic Preservation Grant to preserve and digitize the film. It premiered at Univee Surkuss (today’s Thurtene Carnival) and played in local movie houses. Read more about the film in this recent article from Washington Magazine.
