2022 Nobel Prize Conversation: Reading Annie Ernaux Today

In celebration of Annie Ernaux’s Nobel Prize, the University Libraries, the Department of Romance Languages and Literatures, and the French ConneXions Center of Excellence, invite you to a special reading and discussion. Ernaux is a prominent French writer and was recently named the 2022 Laureate of the Nobel Prize in Literature “for the courage and clinical acuity with which she uncovers the roots, estrangements and collective restraints of personal memory.” 

Faculty and students will discuss reading Ernaux’s work in the context of Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, the Medical Humanities, and French & Francophone literature courses at Washington University in St. Louis. 

Free and open to all, refreshments will be provided.
