Bio

Micah directs the activities of the Scholarly Communication & Digital Publishing Services (SCDPS) program for University Libraries, which include copyright and permissions advisory services, fair use, authors’ rights, open access, OER, tools for digital publishing and data sharing, guidance on licensing, and support for new modes of research dissemination.

The unit is also responsible for promoting campus-wide scholarly communication programming and engagement initiatives to help faculty and students use, create, and publish scholarship in ways that promote its accessibility and impact.

Micah offers individual consultations, workshops, and customized presentations and helps to navigate rights issues and policies that connect to research, teaching, and library services.

He has a JD from Washington University School of Law, where he oversaw the creation of its institutional repository and has worked for University Libraries since 2013.
