Bio

Lino joined the Washington University Libraries in August 2022. He was previously a Senior Collections and Reference Assistant for Latin American and the Caribbean, Spanish and Portuguese, Chicano-Riqueño, Latino Studies, European Studies, and African Studies at Indiana University Libraries in Bloomington, Indiana.

Lino holds a PhD in Italian Studies and Food Anthropology (Indiana University – Bloomington 2020), a Post-Graduate Diploma in Information and Library Management (Northumbria University, 2012), an MA in French and Italian (The Ohio State University, 2005), an MA in Language and Cognition Studies (Universidade Nova de Lisboa, Portugal, 2003).

  • Short-term Research Residential Fellow at the Newberry Library in Chicago, June 2021 for the research project “Venice as the birthplace of the printed cookbook in vernacular Italian: From Platina’s De Honesta Voluptate to the Epulario”;
  • HASTAC (Humanities, Arts, Sciences, and Technology Alliance and Collaboratory) Fellow at the Indiana University Institute for Digital Arts and Humanities, academic year 2018-2019;
  • Encoder for Petrarchive: An edition of Petrarch’s songbook Rerum Vulgarium Fragmenta 2016-2017;
