Irv Docktor Exhibit Reception
Join us for an exhibition reception to celebrate The Legacy of Irv Docktor, on view from January 13–July 13. Archival materials from the Irv Docktor Collection, which includes additional pieces of original art and ephemera, will also be on display in the Mendle Classroom in Special Collections. Andrea Degener, curator of the Dowd Illustration Research Archive, will lead a tour of the exhibit at 5:15 pm.
The reception is free and open to all, registration is requested.
The Legacy of Irv Docktor: From Canvas to Classroom
Irv Docktor was a prolific illustrator and lifelong teacher. The exhibition offers snapshots of artwork from different stages of his life as both a commercial illustrator and fine artist. The pieces span from original watercolors Docktor painted while serving in the army to figure drawings created while teaching, as well as autobiographical and live figure
