NEXT Award 2023 Presentations
Join us for an opportunity to hear from the 2023 Newman Exploration Travel Fund (NEXT) Awardees, who will share presentations about their travels, followed by a poster session and special reception with opportunities to interact with the winners.
Presenters will include:
Kaden Chaudhary, a Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Art student majoring in architecture, visited the Dolomite region in Northern Italy.
Kate Farmer, an Arts & Sciences student majoring in Interdisciplinary Project in the Humanities and philosophy, visited the United Kingdom, France, Belgium, Denmark, and the Netherlands.
Nicole Farnsley, a Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Art student majoring in communication design, traveled to Greece, Italy, and France.
Jacqueline Garnett, PhD candidate in anthropology in Arts & Sciences, visited Italy.
Shea McCollough, PhD candidate in English literature Arts & Sciences, traveled to the United Kingdom and Italy.
Kritika Sharma, PhD candidate in energy, environmental, and chemical engineering at the McKelvey School of Engineering, traveled to Japan.
Kathleen Blackburn Brown, program manager for the English language programs at the School of Continuing & Professional Studies, traveled to Spain, France, and Bulgaria.
Antonio Hubbard, a detective sergeant in the Washington University Police Department, visited Japan and South Korea.
Brian Carpenter, professor of psychological and brain sciences, visited Japan. Carpenter was a 2022 NEXT award recipient, but had to delay his travels until 2023 because of travel restrictions in Japan.
