As Chief of Staff for the Office of the Vice Provost/University Librarian, Christy Matteuzzi serves as the principal deputy to the Vice Provost/University Librarian and oversees the planning, operations, and management of the Vice Provost/University Librarian’s office. Her responsibilities include promoting collaboration across the libraries, facilitating communication, and assuring timely and appropriate responsiveness to internal and external requests. Matteuzzi works closely with senior management to implement the decisions and directives of the Vice Provost/University Librarian and assures that the strategic goals of the Libraries are being advanced and projects are being implemented. She serves as a member of the University Librarians Council, Library Management Council, and Supervisors Council.

Matteuzzi has been with Washington University since March 2009 and has served most recently as assistant director for research and business administration for the Cordell Institute for Policy in Medicine and Law and executive coordinator for institutional research and support for the Dean’s Office at Washington University School of Medicine. Prior to coming to Washington University, Matteuzzi was a paralegal for a private labor and employment law firm in St. Louis and the proprietor of a bakery franchise.

Outside of the Libraries, Matteuzzi is a distance and sprint coach and athletic coordinator for the track and field program at a local elementary school and participates regularly in athletic competitions.

Matteuzzi is a graduate student in American Culture Studies at Washington University. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Missouri, St. Louis.
