Last week, MGHL staff were busy unpacking and sorting several shipments that will be processed as part of the Walt Reed Collection.
The shipment contained a variety of items relating to illustration throughout the twentieth century from Illustration House in New York.
We received a variety of photographic materials, including these boxes of 4×5 negatives.

The majority of the shipment included a number of books relating to illustrators and artists dating from the 1800s to the present. We also uncovered numerous boxes full of the Saturday Evening Post and many other periodicals.
The periodicals span several decades.
Many of the periodicals are in excellent condition and have retained their vibrant color.
A number of the periodicals have handwritten notes on the covers.
Walt Reed complied numerous scrapbooks on notable illustrators.
This scrapbook is full of clippings featuring the Tennie Weenies comic strip.
