Update on East Asian Library Retrieval

The suspension of retrieval from East Asian Library announced on March 23 is still in effect. The Libraries are continuing to work with our campus partners and January Hall renovation project team to assess and resolve an unanticipated environmental issue related to construction.

Because we don’t yet have a definite date for resuming retrieval, we are taking steps as of Friday, March 30, to transfer holds for East Asian Library material placed since March 21 (most recent day of retrieval) to MOBIUS and/or Interlibrary Loan.

As a reminder, Chinese, Japanese, and Korean language materials housed at West Campus are not affected by this situation.

For faster delivery, please place any new requests for East Asian Library material directly through Interlibrary Loan until further notice.

The Libraries hope to resume normal operations soon and will post another update when we have more information to share.

Please contact Ryuta Komaki, Japanese and Korean Studies librarian and interim East Asian librarian, at rkomaki@wustl.edu for assistance and with any questions.
