Unpaywall is a web browser extension for Chrome and Firefox.  Once installed, it brings up a gray or green tab on the side of the screen when the user hits a paywalled paper.  A green “unlock” sign means that a free version of the paper is available elsewhere.  A gray “lock” icon means that a free version was not found. Be sure to try the WU Catalog if you don’t find a free version since WU does subscribe to thousands of journals that you can’t find for free.
