Louis & Jodi Atkin Family Collection

The Louis and Jodi Atkin Family Collection consists of World War I posters and memorabilia. The collection includes over 400 recruitment and propaganda posters produced from 1915 – 1918 by the major countries engaged in the war: America, Britain, France, Italy, Russia, Czechoslovakia, and Germany.

The posters with their vivid colors and dramatic illustrations insist that everyone do their part to support the war effort by buying war bonds while remembering to conserve resources and donate needed supplies.

In addition to posters, the collection contains a variety of material from the World War I era. The objects in the archive consist of a wide array of items: military uniforms, issues of the Red Cross and Leslie’s magazine, a viewfinder with a number of slides, hundreds of pages of sheet music, tear sheets, books, and newspapers.
