Research Data Management

Data Services (DS) provides Research Data Management (RDM) services to the University through support for and promotion of best practices and planning. This service aids in addressing funder and institutional data management requirements, as well as fosters good research management protocols, research data transparency, and reproducible research. DS consults and assists researchers to establish good practices (conventions, fidelity, security, etc.), identify and use appropriate tools and technologies (databases, storage, software, etc.) to best manage data for analyses, sharing, reuse and preservation. DS provides RDM support throughout the research lifecycle but encourages early consultation.

DS assists researchers in constructing a data management plan (DMP) and reviews DMP drafts before submission. DS provides recommendations for viable repository options, including the University’s institutional repository. DS provides guidance on research transparency and ethical research tools and practices.

DS provides RDM services through one-on-one consultation, asynchronous review, and workshops.
