Search All WashU Libraries Resources at Once Starting July 1

On July 1, 2020, Washington University Libraries and Bernard Becker Medical Library will integrate their respective catalogs, making both collections searchable from one platform for the first time.

Becker Library item and patron records are already live in the University Libraries’ catalog ahead of the complete integration on July 1. Becker Medical Library is a new search option dropdown in the catalog’s search bar for a filtered search of those materials as well.

Users of the Becker Library catalog will notice a new look and feel when the platforms change on July 1 but should not expect any changes beyond scope and cosmetics. By default, searching from the Becker Library website will bring up resources available at Becker Library only. Patrons will then be able to widen their search to include all university resources by simply changing a dropdown menu selection (instead of going to search on the University Libraries’ website as is currently required).

This project is the culmination of key objectives to support improving discovery and access in both the strategic plans for both Becker Library and the University Libraries.
