Scholarly communications selected links from March 2018

Preprints’ content equivalent to peer-reviewed, published? This article is getting some interesting discussion: Comparing published scientific journal articles to their pre-print versions, by Martin Klein, Peter Broadwell, Sharon E. Farb, Todd Grappone, to be published in International Journal on Digital Libraries 2018. WU Libraries do not subscribe to this title but there is a fairly similar(?) preprint version available in arXiv. As more scholars begin to share their preprints, the importace of the topic (the value for peer-review, editorial input and inclusion in an often-paywalled journal) grows.
