Jessica Klingler Cissell, chief of staff, supports the vice provost and university librarian by managing relationships, communications, and working closely with other senior leaders to implement the vice provost and university librarian’s decisions and directives. As a member of the University Librarians Council, she serves as the principal deputy to the vice provost and university librarian with responsibilities for planning, operations, and management of the Office of the Vice Provost and University Librarian.
Cissell is a member of the All Supervisors Council and is currently the chair of the Library Management Council. She also leads the Libraries Grants Program, which provides support and direction to staff in securing external funding for projects supporting the Libraries strategic initiatives.
Cissell joined Washington University in St. Louis in 2011 in Gaylord Music Library. She most recently served as executive assistant and grants supervisor in the University Libraries. A St. Louis native, Jessica earned her bachelor of music from Webster University and her masters of arts from New York University. She is pursuing her master’s in business administration at the Olin School of Business at Washington University.
