Starting on February 22, two construction partitions associated with the Olin Library Transformation will be installed in Olin on Levels 1 and 2 near the atrium. This work is expected to continue through February 24. Between the hours of 6 a.m. and 3 p.m., high levels of activity and noise are expected in the vicinity of the installation and possibly in other parts of Olin.
The partitions will enable the installation of steel beams that will support the future Newman Tower of Collections and Exploration. The Newman Tower, spanning Levels A, 1, 2, and 3 through Whispers, will house new seating and study areas and showcase library collections and exhibitions.
If construction activities and noise are bothersome, you can pick up free earplugs at the Olin Help Desk, Special Collections, The Writing Center, the Arc, and the Center for Diversity & Inclusion. The departmental libraries are great study locations, too!
