Olin Transformation Update

The Olin Library Transformation continues to move forward! Two new phases of construction will begin soon. On Level 1, construction of the Thomas Gallery exhibition space will begin the week after commencement. The gallery will feature museum-quality exhibition spaces and will be home to the university’s rare broadside of the Declaration of Independence.

On Level A, the Arc will close on May 11 for renovation and will remain closed for the duration of summer and well into the fall 2017 semester. Those who use the Macs currently in the Arc open lab will find some of the machines relocated to other levels of Olin for continued use during renovation. When the Arc reopens, users will find revamped and refreshed teaching and learning spaces.

Also on the horizon for the project: the opening of the new north entrance is anticipated around the end of June. Closure of the existing south entrance for renovation will take place in early July, once the north entrance has opened. By the middle of fall semester 2017, both entrances are expected to be open and operational for greater ease of access to Olin.
