A NEW STUDENT-CURATED EXHIBIT of material from the D.B. Dowd Modern Graphic History Library, “The Norm and The Other: Visualizing Minorities Before, During, and After World War II,” IS NOW ON DISPLAY IN OLIN LIBRARY, Ginkgo Room
A special exhibition curated by students enrolled in the course “Introduction to Illustration Studies” taught by Prof. Jaleen Grove, Post-Doctoral Research Scholar in the Dowd Modern Graphic History Library, opens on December 6, 2017.
During an opening reception students will give brief presentations on the materials they selected for the exhibit as part of the their work on American illustrated print culture. The Dowd Modern Graphic History Library is comprised of original art and printed material from many fields of popular American pictorial graphic culture. Focusing on 20th century illustration, the collection includes artists’ working materials and sketches as well as original artwork from books, magazines, and advertising.
Refreshments will be served at the reception at noon in the Ginkgo Room, Olin Library.
