Washington University Libraries will begin accepting applications for the 2019 Newman Exploration Travel Fund on January 14. The fund awards up to $10,000 per award to two student scholarships, one faculty grant, and one staff grant for members of the Danforth Campus who wish to explore this vast universe. Traveling into the unknown represents a unique opportunity to achieve myriad goals, whether cultural, intellectual, philosophical, or academic, or to realize a lifelong dream, to serve others, or to broaden our horizons and sense of place in the world. Applications are due by 5 p.m. on Thursday, February 28, 2019, and must include a budget, written proposal, and an application form. Recipients are required to submit a post-travel report and lead a presentation on how the travel impacted them for the Newman Exploration Center. Winners will be announced April 1, 2019.
