SUMMARY: Born in Germany to Turkish parents, Cenk Batu is an undercover agent with the State Bureau of Investigation (LKA) in Hamburg. His ability to analyze people and situations is put to good use as he works on a wide variety of cases ranging from industrial espionage and financial crimes to terror cells and political assassinations. Part of the Tatort series, Germany’s longest-running TV crime franchise.

SUMMARY: “Phoebe Frost, an upright Republican member of Congress, travels to Berlin to look into reports of corruption among the occupying American forces. She enlists an Army captain in her crusade and finds herself falling for him, unaware that he is the man romantically involved with a German cabaret singer who can lead army investigators to a high-level Nazi war criminal”–Container.


Jud Süss [videorecording] : Film ohne Gewissen / eine Produktion der Novotny & Novotny Filmproduktion und der Clasart Filmproduktion mit Tele München ; ein Film von Oskar Roehler. Originally produced as a motion picture in 2010. In German with optional subtitles in English and in German for the hearing impaired. DVD.

SUMMARY: A dramatic presentation of the rise and fall of actor Ferdinand Marian. He starred in the Nazi’s notoriously anti-semitic film “Jud Süss”, a propaganda historical costume melodrama based on a novel of the same title by Lion Feuchtwanger.

SUMMARY: A man who accused a Catholic bishop of abusing him when he was a child dies in the Austrian city Salzburg. Everyone except his widow and the eccentrical detective Simon Brenner believe that the man killed himself.

SUMMARY: “When Camiel, a gay dentist, and Simon, a carefree café owner, collide in a traffic accident, their lives become intrinsically entwined. When they bump into each other fourteen years later, Simon is severely ill. Camiel experiences at close range how Simon and those around him come to terms with his illness. The strength and humor that Simon shows in this difficult time leave a lasting impression on Camiel.”–Container.
