Following the first phase of new furniture installation on Level 1 of Olin Library in October, the second phase will take place on Wednesday, November 21, with preparation occurring on Tuesday, November 20. A variety of furniture will be installed in the study space across from the Help Desk, including tables with chairs, soft seating, and accessories such as laptop tables and “power towers” to increase accessibility to electrical outlets. The Libraries’ goal is to refresh this well-used study space to increase user productivity and comfort.
Furniture and finishes were selected by a team of library staff members and student interns. In some cases, users had opportunities to sample and provide feedback on particular seating options.
Please expect disruption during the following times:
- November 20, noon – 5 p.m., for removal of some existing furniture
- November 21, 7 a.m. – 5 p.m., for installation of new furniture
The Libraries apologize for all disruptions prior to and during the installation. If you have questions or feedback, please contact Sarah Laaker, head of Operational Planning and Assessment.
