Research is an essential part of the Department of Chemistry at Washington University, and the Chemistry Library aims to support the information needs of those in the Department of Chemistry and the general university community. The Chemistry Library itself includes both circulating and non-circulating materials in addition to online access to relevant databases.

Borrowing & Returns

Washington University students, faculty, staff, and courtesy borrowers may borrow books. A current Washington University I.D. or courtesy card is required.

Accessing Chemistry Cumulative Exams

To access past cumulative exams, log into Ares using your WUSTL key.

In the “Search by Department” drop-down menu, select “Chemistry.” Choose the cume subject you want from the results list, and add it to your courses using the password “chemistry.” From there you can download and print the tests.

If there is a book or item you think should be added to our collections, fill out our Recommend a Purchase form. Your request will be routed to the appropriate subject librarian for review.

Technology in the Library

The Chemistry Library has two online computer search terminals that provide access to the Library Catalog, as well as access to the internet. There is one copy machine. This copier requires entry of copy code issued by the Chemistry Department. The second copier is for all non-Chemistry Department people and requires a copy card which may be purchased in Olin Library.
