Francophone Voices

2020 marked the 50th anniversary of the International Organisation of La Francophonie (OIF). To celebrate this, the Department of Romance Languages and Literatures organized Francophone Week at Washington University (March 20-26, 2021) and partnered with the University Libraries to present “Francophone Voices,” a digital exhibition of books from our collections that showcase contemporary francophone literature from around the globe.

Romance Languages and Literatures graduate student and organizer of Francophone week Elodie Tantet selected the books in this exhibition. Tantet also wrote an accompanying essay and collaborated with fellow graduate student Salvador Lopez Rivera on writing the brief biographies of the selected authors.
