The Signature of All Things

Join us for the August book club selection, The Signature of All Things by Elizabeth Gilbert.

Set against the social and political changes of the 18th and 19th centuries, the novel follows the story of the Alma Whittaker. As a talented botanist, Alma is fascinated by the new theory of evolution; the painter she falls in love with, Ambrose Pike, is interested in spirituality and magic.

Book club will begin with a presentation of botanical texts held at Becker Medical Library followed by a discussion.
