Whitaker Jazz Speaks: Jazz, Race, & Politics

Join Dr. Vernon Mitchell Jr., curator of American Popular Arts at the Washington University Libraries, in a discussion on the crossroads of jazz, race, and politics both at the time of the Civil Rights Movement and today.

The approximately hour-long discussion will be followed by a rare performance of “We Insist! Max Roach’s Freedom Now Suite.”
