ArcGIS Storymaps is a browser-based platform for webpage creation that facilitates interactive map creation and sharing and provides a simple tool for building a webpage that combines images, text, and more. This workshop will introduce students to ArcGIS Storymaps platform, and show how this medium can be used to tell compelling stories even if you don’t plan on including a map.

Geography Awareness Week (GAW) is an international event with the goal of highlighting the significance of geography in people’s lives. The Data Services team at the University Libraries will be celebrating the importance of geospatial data and tools with a series of workshops on various topics ranging from open source geographic information systems (GIS), Storymapping, Community GIS, and using Python with spatial data.

Free and open to all.

Anyone who participates in at least two sessions will receive a gift! Follow the Washington University Libraries on Facebook and Twitter (@WUSTLibraries) for GAW updates and use the hashtags #GAWatWashU, #GeoWeek, and #geographyawarenessweek when attending the workshops.
