Join us for a screening of the Change the Subject documentary, followed by a panel discussion. This documentary tells the story of a group of college students who challenged divisive immigration rhetoric. Their advocacy took them all the way from Baker-Berry Library to the halls of Congress, showing how an instance of campus activism entered the national spotlight, and how a cataloging term became a flashpoint in the immigration debate on Capitol Hill.
This screening will be followed by a panel discussion featuring Shelli Kastin, Head of Technical Services, Washington University Libraries; Katie Herbert Meyer, Director, Immigration Law Clinic, School of Law; Ariela Schachter, Assistant Professor of Sociology, Arts & Sciences; and Mark Scharff, Music and Special Collections Catalog Librarian, Washington University Libraries.
Free and open to all; refreshments will be provided.
