East Asian Library to Reopen After Renovation

The East Asian Library has been closed to the public since December of 2017 due to the renovation of January Hall. With the renovation project wrapping up, the library is expected to reopen on Tuesday, September 4. Open hours will be 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday initially. The library hours will be adjusted later in the fall semester, so patrons can use the reading room and library services in the evening and on weekends.

From August 27-31, East Asian Library staff will be available by appointment. During this time, books from the January Hall stacks will continue to be available via Classic Catalog request for pick-up at Olin Library and the other Danforth campus libraries. The option to pick up requested books from the East Asian Library circulation desk will be re-enabled after the library reopens.

Following renovation, the most significant changes in East Asian Library are a new circulation desk, HVAC system, and an elevator for better accessibility. The Libraries look forward to welcoming students, faculty, and staff into the space to experience these enhancements.
