East Asian Library/January Hall Retrieval Resumes

The University Libraries have resumed retrieval of locally requested materials from the East Asian Library in January Hall. Retrieval was temporarily suspended while an environmental issue stemming from the renovation project in the building was assessed. The Classic Catalog “Request” button for East Asian Library items has been re-enabled, allowing users to place hold requests online. Please note that the renovation work in January Hall is still ongoing, and the East Asian Library is closed to the public until August. (Read about collections and library services available from the East Asian Library staff during closure).

It’s possible that you may experience slight delays in the delivery of your hold requests. In rare occasions, Libraries staff may find requested books in January Hall not retrievable due to construction work or lingering environmental issues. In those cases, Libraries staff will transfer the requests to interlibrary loan (ILL) and send you a message. ILL books will take an additional 7-10 days to arrive. We appreciate your continued patience. Please contact Ryuta Komaki, Japanese and Korean Studies librarian and interim East Asian librarian, at rkomaki@wustl.edu with any questions.
