Call for Nominations – 2018 Trailblazers Award

Kick off Black History Month by nominating someone for the Trailblazers award! Nominations will be accepted until February 15 at 5:00 pm.

The Washington University Trailblazers was established in 2016 to acknowledge, commemorate and celebrate the contributions Black alumni, faculty and staff have made to the institution and broader communities. The initiative provides an opportunity for the university and local community to learn more about Washington University’s history, recognize Black change agents who have shaped the present-day institution, and make intergenerational connections with alumni, faculty, staff and current students.

Past winners of this award include Cynthia Cosby, Brittany Packnett, Wilmetta Toliver-Diallo, Sowande Mustakeem, Robert WIlliams and Jack Kirkland. You can read their bios on the Trailblazers website.

Please submit nominations here by 5 p.m. on Feb. 15. For more information, email

The awards ceremony will be held on May 2 at 6:00 pm in Emerson Auditorium.

Inaugural Trailblazers Honorees Cynthia Cosby and Brittany Packnett with their awards.
