WU Libraries now has access to all five modules of the British Library Newspapers online collection, spanning the mid-eighteenth to the mid-twentieth century. The collections include national and regional newspapers, with some full and some incomplete runs. In addition to making image adjustments to improve readability, the texts are keyword searchable. British Library Newspapers makes it possible to analyze texts using term frequency or clustering. Upon request Gale, the database vendor, will send the associated metadata for digital text analysis projects.
British Library Newspapers is cross-searchable with these other Gale collections WU has access to: The Times Digital Archive, Nineteenth Century Collections Online, Burney Collection Newspapers, 19th Century UK Periodicals, and the Telegraph Historical Archive.
