Handbook of the Birds of the World Alive is a continuously updated online version of the 17-volume set, which was published between 1992 and 2013 and contains 13,367 pages written by 277 authors, 1030 plates painted by 33 artists, 20,617 figures, 10,200 maps and 100,000 bibliographical references. Note: our subscription allows for 5 concurrent users and you will need a username and password to access this database.

The 2016 Database issue of Nucleic Acids Research is available. There are 3 fewer databases listed this year than last year. See comments as Bio Databases 2016.

IsisCB Explore is an open access database. It currently contains 40 years, 1974 to 2014, from Isis Bibliography of the History of Science. These citations are also available in the Ebsco database History of Science, Technology, and Medicine. The comments feature (for logged in users) may be useful for history of science scholars. Future plans for IsisCB Explore include web-based resources from the World History of Science Online and the 1913-1975 Isis Cumulative Bibliographies. When those are added, along with link resolver function (for Get it! buttons) this free file will become very useful indeed, so this is one to watch!
