Shea is a Bichon Frise weighing 10.9 lbs. I adopted him from Bichon Frise Rescue of Greater St. Louis on September 2, 1998. He is incredibly adorable. He is very people-oriented but don't be offended if his greeting only lasts a few seconds. After he checks you out, he needs to continue his patrol of the area surrounding you--which somehow escaped his attention previously.

Shea likes to cuddle--when he wants too--usually when he is sleepy. He loves to hear his name and to make him happy just pet him -- especially on his tummy!Placidly, he gazes back at me or squeezes his eyes shut in pleasure--the better to concentrate on the scratching hand.

His English skills are very good and the largest category in his vocabulary revolves around food -- he understands "eat," "treat," "snack," and "breakfast." For treats, I give him nuggets of his food--a special formula to prevent bladder stones. Shea also likes to chew on paper -- stacks of bills or magazines on the coffee table, book covers, and fly away receipts from grocery sacks AND tissues and toilet paper -- all are fodder for his habit.

Shea came with a poodle haircut to which he was oblivious. As he rightly believes, his physical attractiveness is not eclipsed by poor grooming.
