        Thanks to John Dodds for a really good explanation of above terms.
Further question: does OPAC refer to just one software program, by that
name, or to any program that accomplishes the task.  I have been engaged on
a project to upgrade the program installed in one particular library system,
which seems exceedingly user unfriendly by 1996 standards, and also
exceedingly unhelpful.  Sort of like help from Microsoft.
