As a culmination of a decade's work, I plan to electronically distribute (publish) thousands of small, integral (100k,72dpi,grey-scale) photos to interested viewers on a regular basis-- say, one new image every 12 hours. [An appropriate extension to an independent, offset, book-as-art publishing venture; see _ISBN-Book_ files in my ftp-subdirectory.]

I would prefer to use JPEG compression (recommendations?), but wonder how well it works with Mosaic.

I'm thinking that I'll post these images via WWW links. Can anyone suggest the scripting (or existent software) necessary to automate my posting of the photos? It would be preferable to have the new images automatically replace the old. Technical suggestions? Would there be any advantage in my posting the images to an alt newsgroup and merely providing a link to it?

I'd like to also offer a personal subscription service to these regular postings. Ideas?

Thanks!!!

/b
