This project is testing the viability of using the OAI Protocol for harvesting metadata, and exposing it with a search interface to enhance resource discoverability for materials that represent cultural heritage. Our repository includes metadata records donated by over 26 institutions. We continue to seek additional materials to add to the testbed.

We are actively modifying the collections, how they are searched, and how they display. Your feedback is greatly appreciated. Please send comments directly to me: mailto:jkaczmar@uiuc.edu Also, if you have materials you'd like to contribute to this project but are not ready to become a registered OAI Metadata Provider we'd be happy to put them on our server for the duration of our project.

If your institution is interested in becoming a registered OAI Metadata Provider, we have software tools freely available for your use.
