What do we base our model os sustainabiality. Read Emerson's essay on self reliance. "Trust thyself, every heart vibrates to that iron string". Let us look to our knowledge, our experience and our predictive ability. If we want to create a computer, do we look at primitive man for a model? No, we create it out of whole cloth. We have enough scientifc data to know what we need to do. Early Man did not know about global warming, we do. Early Man cannot be our guideline. We must take our own abilities and make a volitional choice as to how we want to create a society. Rape and child sex abuse ran rampant in ancient times. is that our model of interaction? Women were oppressed in traditional societies. Is that how we should treat women? As Emerson said, "we are adorers of the past". We must take control of our destiny, look at our own minds and make our own decisions. Slavery was found in just about every primitibve society. Should we look to slave holding as a way to handle "subject" populations? SHould we keep subject populations just as they did? Remember, Early man drove the chimpanzee back to the forest from his sentient capabilities. Now we use this potential sapient as an experimental animal. Our ancestors eliminated 5 other sapient prehuman bipeds who might have been as intelligent as we are by now. Do we want to be as Early man?Sharing and caring,
