Dear International Friends: Could any of you suggest an NGO in Tanzania (
preferably with lowlands contacts) that might be interested in cooperating
with a bean improvement research program in strengthening our ability to
involve local communities and farmers in testing, multiplying and
disseminating improved bean varieties? The Bean/Cowpea CRSP which has been
operating through Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA), Morogoro, and
Washington State University for a number of years has a particular interest
in working with village women's associations to develop entrepreneurial
approaches to seed handling, multiplication and marketing. There is an
active interdisciplinary bean research team at SUA. Thanks for your interest.
