Dear Eberhard,My experience suggests that, whenever any discusion gets going on a list, a few people will say the topic is boring, overdiscussed, or whatever. The participants get interested in their conversation and they decide these few bored listeners can delete if they wish. I guess this list is a bit unusual in that many of the participants are located in developing countries and have to pay for what they receive regardless of whether they read it or not. In that context particularly, people who think the system is being abused by longwinded users (me included) should send a sentence to that effect. If enough did this, the saving on unwanted continuations of conversations would be meaningful and we would have a better idea what others want to receive. Silent majorities don't count for much if they stay silent and don't exercise their majorities.
