We spend our time moving on, in, and though our highways and rivers, from point A to B.  While moving between these points we do not experiences place, only the anonymous landscape that now permeates our cities.  Only in intimate interactions—with each other and the mode of transport—do we actually make a place completely severed from the landscape we move through.
