Robert David Cohen is an American author who has spent a considerable time living and working in Mexico. He has been associated with El Corno Emplumado, working as an editor with his wife, the poet and editor Margaret Randall. He has been a close friend of the poet Robert Sward. Cohen, Sward, and the late British writer Ann Quin corresponded regularly and worked closely together on a number of projects in the 1960's, especially when the three were together in Mexico.

The Cohen Papers include correspondence from Sward and Quin to Cohen, written while Cohen lived in Mexico in 1968-1969, as well as poetry manuscripts written by Cohen alone and by the three authors together. The collection also contains a notebook by Cohen which held notes about Sward and notes toward The Play, a collaborative work by Sward and Cohen.
