Typed letter signed, L.T.J. Arlott to John Betjeman, proposing that they collaborate on an anthology of topographical verse. Suggests that he would do all of the background bibliographic work, with Betjeman providing the scope and direction of the collection. Lists names and some of the works he would wish to include and sketches the intent of such an effort.

Published under the name John Arlott. The proposed book (above) was issued in 1943 under the title Landmarks; a book of topographical verse for England and Wales, and was compiled by Arlott and Sir George Rostrevor Hamilton, Cambridge University Press, 1943. Arlott also wrote a good deal about sporting events in England, especially cricket.
